Last year the View Park Prep Lady Knights basketball team finished the year with a 19-4 record and were the City Champs in the CIF Crosstown League. The players went on to represent Southern California in the State Tournament where they made it to the State quarter finals.

This year the Lady Knights, who already have a winning 4-1 record, are taking on an even greater challenge by playing in the CIF Coliseum League where they will face Division I and Division II powerhouse teams such as Crenshaw and Dorsey. The players are ready for the challenge as this year's team is an experienced team of mostly upperclassmen. There are 2 seniors, 5 juniors, 1 sophomore and 1 freshman on the squad.

On December 7th, against Fremont High School, the Lady Knights were victorious with a 73 to 22 win. Last year in the CIF Crosstown League, which is made up of many small, Division IV and Division V charter schools and academies, the Lady Knights dominated and beat their opponents by an average of 40 points per game.

The Lady Knights are lead by Coach Denise Woods who is very proud of her team's accomplishments on and off the court.

"The team is so focused this year. They are working together well and pushing each other to be the best. They have great attitudes on and off the court. It's a lot of fun working with them and coaching them."
